The Quantum Science GRC – Many-Body Quantum Systems: Quantum Computing, Simulation, Sensing, and Emerging Platforms

Loading Events

The Quantum Science GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

Quantum information science has made remarkable strides, with transformational breakthroughs in even the last five years. Quantum computers are becoming increasingly powerful, and companies and researchers are exploring their potential for solving complex problems, having now demonstrated first results that go beyond the capabilities of classical simulators. Despite these advances, critical challenges remain between present capabilities and transformative, fault-tolerant quantum computing: development of error correction codes to mitigate the effects of decoherence; development of scalable hardware architectures; and even discovery of algorithms that efficiently leverage quantum advantage. Furthermore, establishing practical quantum networks requires further exploration.

This GRC aims to convene experienced and early-career researchers from both academic and industrial backgrounds, fostering discussions, idea exchange, and the juxtaposition of theoretical advancements with experimental achievements. it will encompass a diverse range of topics, spanning novel approaches to fundamental principles, quantum dynamics, and information scrambling. It will delve into innovative applications of quantum advantage and the integration of quantum computers with quantum materials. Advances in quantum metrology and sensing will be highlighted, alongside discussions on emerging applications and platforms in quantum science and simulation.
