QURECA at the 20×30: Europe’s ADS Summit

In an era of rapid technological evolution, Europe’s competitive edge hinges on its ability to develop and maintain advanced digital skills. Facing a critical shortage of ICT professionals, the “20×30: Europe’s ADS Summit” emerges as a pivotal gathering to propel Europe towards its ambitious goal of adding 20 million new ICT specialists by 2030, underpinning the Digital Decade policy initiative.

This free one-day event in Madrid united thought leaders from business, academia, and policy-making to chart Europe’s journey in advanced digital skills. Featuring roundtables, keynote speeches, workshops, and showcases of best practices, the summit served as a crucible for innovative solutions and strategic collaborations aimed at redefining Europe’s digital skills landscape.

QURECA was proud to participate in this significant event. Our CEO and founder, Araceli Venegas-Gomez, contributed her insights during a panel titled “The Perspectives of Industry – Acquiring Talents in a Fast-Changing Environment,” offering valuable perspectives on the challenges and strategies in talent acquisition within the rapidly evolving tech sector.

Additionally, we represented our project QTIndu, highlighting our efforts to develop a harmonised short-term training program in quantum technologies tailored for industrial applications. This engagement underscores our commitment to advancing digital skills and fostering innovation in the quantum technology landscape.

QURECA joins Technology Scotland in growing Scottish quantum ecosystem

We are excited to share that QURECA recently became a new member of Technology Scotland, the representative body for the Enabling Technology Sector in Scotland. As a leader in growing Scotland’s quantum ecosystem, Technology Scotland brings together academic and industry players to foster new opportunities and developments across many sectors through their three networks - Photonics Scotland, MaaS, and PDS. On 16th May, in celebration of Photonic Scotland’s 30th birthday, our team member, Simon Armstrong, attended Tech Scotland’s latest event, Photonics Scotland Networking Event, where quantum technologies was named as a key strategic focus. This further outlines Scotland’s growing quantum enthusiasm including Tech Scotland’s upcoming quantum technology special interest group meeting and Quantum x Finance workshop organised by FRIL, a new Innovate UK project aimed at revolutionising the finance sector by integrating cutting-edge technologies. Both events are running on 4th June, where Simon will be at each discussing the importance of skills development and how quantum technologies will play an important role in shaping the future landscape.

Reverse Dependency: Making Europe’s Digital Technological Strengths Indispensable to China

Understand how the EU and UK can maintain their technological edge and ensure economic security through strategic technological dependencies on China. This comprehensive analysis by the Digital Power China (DPC) research consortium highlights the necessity of balancing autonomy with strategic entanglement.

Spearheaded by Dr. Tim Rühlig and supported by an international team of experts - including our CEO and teammates Araceli Venegas-Gomez, Simon Armstrong and Abhishek Purohit as part of the China Macro Group - this report dives into 12 critical case studies, revealing the indispensable European strengths in research, innovation, IP, and production.

Dive deeper into how these dependencies can form a core part of Europe's strategy in the growing geopolitical competition over digital technology.
