Educating industry professionals about #quantum computing is crucial for industries to harness the power of this transformative technology. There is a significant lack of preparation among financial professionals for the transformations that quantum technology will inevitably bring about to the sector.

Moody's Analytics, a leader in providing financial intelligence and analytical tools, has taken the lead in collaborating with the leading quantum education provider, QURECA, to develop the "Quantum Computing for Quants" course. Scheduled to launch in Q1 2024, the training course will be embedded in Moody's Learning Solutions offering. 📈📚🌟

QURECA Team at the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase

QURECA participated at the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase in London on the 2nd of November, the largest quantum event in the UK! The United Kingdom stands as a key nation where QURECA has maintained a longstanding tradition of cooperation with a variety of stakeholders within the quantum ecosystem. We were delighted to meet both new and old friends. The event provided a fantastic opportunity to exchange ideas and showcase our cutting-edge training and education solutions to academia, industry, and government entities eager to explore the world of quantum innovations. 🙌

Welcome to the November’s edition of the #QURECA monthly news update! As the year end draws closer and the northern days get colder, the quantum technology ecosystem only continues to heat up! While we regularly post weekly news to our LinkedIn, from education initiatives to new collaborations and more, we save a few for our avid newsletter subscribers too.

We’re always excited about developments in #quantum #technologies, even more so when they bring market-ready services to end-users. With that, we’d like to begin by highlighting Oxford Quantum Circuit’s announcement of their enterprise-ready, soon publicly accessible, OQC Toshiko system. Building on their quantum-as-a-service legacy, the new system, named after pioneering Japanese nuclear physicist, Toshiko Yuasa, grants end-users’ access to the 32-qubit superconducting architecture, with the self-professed highest quantum volume and highest commercially-available two-qubit gate fidelities. Available through cloud access or via data centres, permitting HPC-quantum hybrid computing. What does this mean? To realise its true potential, state-of-the-art quantum computing must be made available and accessible to the end-users. Their computational usefulness is not simply measured in "more qubits is better", but rather numerically represented by a system’s quantum volume, an overall performance metric with several features therein considered. This represents another enormous step toward deployment of quantum computing in commercial applications!

A new collaboration has been announced between Classiq, NVIDIA and Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Centre to launch new Quantum Centre for Life Sciences has been announced. The initiative aims to lead in the creation and application of quantum algorithms and solutions, focusing on their revolutionary impact in the fields of life sciences and healthcare. By making use of NVIDIAH100 Tensor Core GPU capabilities as well as the integration between NVIDIA CUDA Quantum and Classiq’s leading software infrastructure, the new quantum computing lab at Ichilov Hospital aims to the break boundaries in data science for the benefit of medicine and patients as well as provide training for non-quantum experts.

Lastly, as we recently highlighted in our LinkedIn updates publications from Nature as well as findings from Standards Australia and UTS addressing the increasing focus on quantum technology’s #talent pipeline and the corresponding shift in educational programs to train engineers in the field, we would like to spotlight two new quantum technology undergraduate programs being launched at University of Western Australia as well University of Sussex, England. UWA’s major degree, which was announced at Quantum West, is being developed to provide students with the #skills and understanding that employers around the globe are constantly seeking and is expected to attract significant interest. It also aims to nurture startup ideas by working alongside industry, making use of their very own quantum computing lab. The program is part of the comprehensive quantum tech #education pipeline available at UWA, including Quantum Girls, a national program designed to inspire young women and their teachers. This program was revealed shortly after the entirely separate announcement of a new first-of-its-kind quantum technology degree launched by University of Sussex; this new degree is unique in that it offers undergraduate students research experience from day one of their degree, aiming to bridging a large experiential gap identified in recent reports from as many as 37% respondent quantum innovators.
