Welcome to the Qubit Race: Step Into the Quantum Revolution

Imagine stepping into a world where a single particle can exist in two places simultaneously, and a split-second tactical choice can rewrite the future of technology. For years, quantum computing has felt like an exclusive club, locked behind laboratory doors. But we believe the quantum revolution shouldn’t just belong to academics—it belongs right on your living room table as the ultimate test of strategic thinking.
As an industry leader in quantum education, we have spent years breaking down complex scientific barriers. Our mission aligns directly with the core values driving global workforce development: Our Mission: The Future is Quantum. We know that quantum technologies will completely transform healthcare, finance, and logistics over the next decade.
That is exactly why we created Qubit Race—a fast-paced strategy board game that meets you where you are, offering a unique opportunity to explore quantum technology first-hand.
Whether you are a complete newcomer or a seasoned industry professional looking to sharpen your knowledge through online training courses, our game delivers genuine learning alongside genuine fun. By blending entertainment with education, we are bridging the gap between theory and practice to train the next generation of the global quantum workforce.
The Heart of the Game: Algorithm-Driven Movement
Designed for 2 to 4 players aged 6 and up, a standard match of Qubit Race lasts between 30 and 60 minutes. The ultimate goal is simple yet exhilarating: build a fully functional quantum computer, race towards quantum supremacy, and be the first player to reach space 100 on the board.
Instead of rolling a dice to move, your advancement is earned entirely through mental agility by solving algorithm puzzles. Each turn, you draw eight numbered cards: a Start Number, a Target Number, and six Algorithm Cards arranged in a grid of two rows and three columns.
To advance, you must engineer a mathematical path from your Start Number to your Target Number. This is achieved by adding numbers from the top row and subtracting numbers from the bottom row, using at most one number per column. The number of spaces you move matches your Target Number. Finding a “Full path” that successfully utilises all three columns earns you lucrative bonus spaces, making this an excellent tool for quantum skills development.
Tailor Your Strategy: Qubit Powers and Careers
To mirror the diverse landscape of real-world physics, players begin by selecting a specific qubit technology, which grants them a unique architectural “superpower” advantage to manipulate their algorithm cards during the puzzle phase:
- Superconducting: Add or subtract 1 from any algorithm card.
- Trapped Ion: Swap card positions within a single column.
- Neutral Atom:Swap two cards within a single row.
- Silicon Spin:Swap the top and bottom rows entirely.
- Photonic: Replace an algorithm card with a fresh draw from the deck.
However, actual quantum hardware faces the constant hurdle of environmental noise—a challenge we actively prepare professionals for through customised quantum training for business. After solving a puzzle, players must roll two dice to check for quantum errors. If your dice total matches or falls within 1 of your qubit’s specific error rate, your movement for that turn suffers a penalising reduction.
Beyond hardware, you must forge a professional path by choosing between two parallel career journeys:
Academia vs. Industry
The Academia Path: Offers a relaxed 30-second puzzle timer, making it highly recommended for beginners. Players earn research tokens for elegant Full paths and for peer-reviewing rivals’ errors. Upon earning your PhD at space 50, you can spend these tokens to move extra spaces or draw vital event cards.
The Industry Path: Forces a high-pressure 10-second deadline but grants much earlier access to commercial collaboration mechanics. Once you become an Engineer at space 50, you can deploy “Market Pressure”, forcing opponents onto a brutal 5-second puzzle clock. This fast-paced ecosystem perfectly mirrors the real-world demands facing today’s global quantum resources and careers.
Navigating the Quantum Landscape
As you race across the board, you will encounter specialised spaces directly inspired by real physics and actual industry roadblocks:
Hadamard Gates & CNOT Gates: Landing here modifies the puzzle rules for your next turn, forcing you to recalculate your mathematical efficiency.
- Bell Circuits: These allow you to entangle with another player, meaning you both share Full path movement bonuses until the space is vacated.
- Quantum Tunnelling: Anomalies that instantly teleport pieces to a paired space, shifting you forwards or backwards across the board.
- Event Spaces: Landing here forces you to draw career-specific cards. These capture the genuine highs and lows of the sector—ranging from sudden funding cuts to breakthrough research bonuses.

Genuinely for Everyone
We designed Qubit Race to be simple enough for ages 6 and up on their very first play, making it an ideal choice for family game nights and classroom STEM activities that reinforce basic maths skills. Yet, the mechanics are deep enough to engage adults and quantum professionals on repeat plays.
By replacing random dice rolls with problem-solving excellence and tactical career choices, we have created an open, playful gateway into the future of technology. The rules are simple, but the concepts are entirely real. The quantum race is on—bring the revolution to your next game night.
