QURECA will act as a European ecosystem and market-entry channel for Paraxiom’s Post-Quantum Transport Gateway (PQTG), working towards a first European PQTG pilot.
ADDRESSING QKD VULNERABILITY
Through initiatives such as the European Quantum Communication Infrastructure (EuroQCI), Europe is deploying Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) networks to protect critical data. Yet the keys these networks generate are often delivered over classical channels secured by conventional encryption. That encryption is vulnerable to future quantum computers, and to “harvest now, decrypt later” attacks today. With NIST’s first post-quantum cryptography (PQC) standards finalised in 2024, organisations now have agreed algorithms to protect these channels, and many are beginning to plan their migration.
A PARTNERSHIP BUILT ON COMPLEMENTARY STRENGTHS
QURECA helps organisations understand their quantum-safe exposure through over 40 CPD-certified courses, readiness assessments and consulting. It also brings long-standing relationships across Europe’s quantum ecosystem, including telecom operators, members of the European Quantum Industry Consortium (QuIC) and EuroQCI-adjacent programmes.
Paraxiom’s PQTG protects the classical channel that delivers QKD keys, using NIST-standardised algorithms, and it requires no changes to the quantum hardware. It has been exercised in interoperability testing against two commercial key delivery systems over the ETSI GS QKD 014 interface, and a 1U appliance has been designed. Together, the two companies can support organisations from the first assessment of their risk through to putting protection in place on their networks.
