SUMMARY:Quantum Computing Summer School Fellowship
DESCRIPTION:The Quantum Computing Summer School is an immersive 10-week curriculum that includes tutorials from world-leading experts in quantum computation as well as one-on-one mentoring from LANL staff scientists who are conducting cutting-edge quantum computing research. Summer school fellowship recipients will be exposed to the theoretical foundations of quantum computation and will become skilled at programming commercial quantum computers\, such as those developed by IBM\, Quera\, IonQ\, Quantinuum\, DWave. Roughly twenty students (with the precise number determined based on the applicant pool) will be awarded a fellowship from LANL for the summer school. The fellowship amount ranges from $10\,000 to $20\,000\, based on academic rank. All students (undergraduate and graduate) are encouraged to apply.

SUMMARY:European Conference on Integrated Optics (ECIO)
DESCRIPTION:The European Conference on Integrated Optics (ECIO) is the largest dedicated event on integrated optics in Europe and longest-running event dedicated to cutting-edge research and technological development in integrated photonics and nanophotonics. \nThe conference focuses on leading edge research on integrated optics\, optoelectronics and nano-photonics and gathers experts from academia and industry to show their latest technical results\, and showcase their products and services. The application scope is broad and it ranges from tele/datacom communications\, optical interconnects\, and (bio) optical sensing applications to more disruptive areas as quantum computing and mid-IR photonics.

SUMMARY:Optica Quantum 2.0 Conference and Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Optica Quantum 2.0 Conference and Exhibition brings together the global community driving the next era of quantum technology. Quantum 2.0 harnesses superposition and entanglement in large-scale systems—such as quantum computers\, networks and sensors—that move beyond the single-system capabilities of Quantum 1.0. \nThe program spans quantum computing\, communications\, devices\, sensing\, and metrology\, alongside discussions of the ecosystem\, commercialization and societal impact. Attendees will explore cutting-edge research\, emerging applications and the opportunities shaping a quantum-enabled future.

SUMMARY:Quantum Device Workshop (QDW) 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Quantum Device Workshop is designed to teach advanced undergraduates and graduate students the art of designing quantum devices. QDW 2026 features a 4-day hands-on workshop on how to effectively design\, simulate and work with superconducting qubits. We will cover theory and simulation techniques\, best practices\, and general constraints for designing superconducting devices. We offer an introductory track and an advanced track so that people of all skill levels can gain something from this event. We offer in-person lectures\, workshops\, and panel sessions. In 2026 we will also offer a Poster session\, a design project and a career perspective session. Attendees can register for an online-only option for the lectures and workshop sessions.

SUMMARY:Midsummer Conference on Open Quantum Systems\, Decoherence\, and the Quantum-to-Classical Crossover
DESCRIPTION:The theory of open quantum systems is essential for describing realistic quantum systems and their interactions with external environments\, such as thermal baths or more general uncontrolled environments. Over the years\, it has demonstrated its value not only through far-reaching theoretical results but also through its central role in modern experimental implementations. Compared with their closed counterparts\, open quantum systems display additional behaviours such as decoherence and dissipation. These processes can give rise to the emergence of a classical description\, a concept that lies at the heart of the quantum-to-classical crossover. This is a wide-ranging collection of ideas and tools aimed at explaining how both closed and open quantum systems can manifest as the classical world we observe. \nThe goal of this conference is to bring together researchers working on open quantum systems and/or the quantum-to-classical crossover. While work combining both fields is welcome\, contributions focused on the fundamental aspects of either area are equally valued. Indeed\, we believe that studying the fundamentals of each topic can spark interest among both communities. The conference aims to provide a space where results and ideas can be shared\, even when they come from different perspectives. The focus will be on the fundamental aspects of these subjects\, including experimental work. Because of its foundational focus\, this conference will not centre on quantum technologies and applications.
