SUMMARY:Workshop IV: Topology\, Quantum Error Correction and Quantum Gravity
DESCRIPTION:Overview\n\n \nQuantum error correction has deep implications beyond quantum computing—two examples being its connections to topological phases of matter and quantum gravity. Recent exciting developments in these directions include the discovery of optimal quantum LDPC codes\, progress towards the quantum PCP conjecture such as the proof of the NTLS conjecture\, and the invention of Floquet codes. The workshop will focus on such new developments with the goal of finding better quantum error correction codes and new applications to open problems in quantum complexity theory\, topological phases of matter\, and quantum gravity. Error correction is also crucial in black hole physics. This workshop will explore (not necessarily unital) coding and complexity problems emerging from the information paradox. \nThis workshop will include a poster session; a request for posters will be sent to registered participants in advance of the workshop.

SUMMARY:Feedback in Quantum Machines 2023
DESCRIPTION:Feedback control is used everywhere in today’s current technologies – everyone that has noise cancelling headphones for example\, uses feedback control to cancel out surrounding noise. \nIn quantum machines – feedback control has been studied theoretically for some years\, but only recently has it become to be possible experimentally to develop these ideas. Researchers are now on the cusp of bringing advanced feedback techniques into quantum computing\, quantum sensing\, and quantum communications. \nThis meeting brings together theorists and experimentalists\, from around to world to share their knowledge on quantum feedback control and advance its potential use in tomorrow’s quantum machines. \nThis workshop is hosted by the Quantum Machines Unit in the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University\, Japan.

SUMMARY:International Conference on Quantum Energy
DESCRIPTION:Quantum visions for global energy solutions\nAustralia’s national science agency\, CSIRO\, is proud to present the International Conference on Quantum Energy (ICQE) 2023 – the premier event to explore the role of quantum mechanics in addressing our global energy challenges. \nICQE 2023 will bring together will bring together thought leaders from around the world to explore the role of quantum in addressing some of our global energy challenges and transform the energy landscape for the future. \nIt offers a cross-disciplinary program on the fundamental principles\, and applied engineering of\, quantum systems for energy harvesting\, conversion\, storage and transport. Australia’s Chief Scientist\, and renowned physicist\, Dr Cathy Foley AO PSM will deliver the conference Welcome Address. She will be joined by six other esteemed keynote speakers including Prof Gerard Milburn\, Dr Alexia Auffèves and Prof Sir Peter Knight in sharing their ground-breaking work and latest insights. \nICQE 2023 promises a comprehensive line-up of speakers\, an innovative program and first-class networking opportunities. We are also planning a packed agenda of science\, food\, arts\, cafes and culture as your introduction to the best of Australia’s cultural centre\, Melbourne.

SUMMARY:Quantum Computing Applications and Security Workshop (QCAS 2023)
DESCRIPTION:Quantum Computing Applications Workshop (QCAS 2023) will take place from December 4th to December 7th\, 2023. The program for the workshop will include a variety of activities such as tutorials\, invited sessions on specific topics\, and sessions for contributed papers. \nQuantum computing applications open up new frontiers in various domains\, including drug discovery\, optimization\, cryptography\, machine learning\, and simulation. By leveraging the principles of quantum mechanics\, these applications offer faster and more efficient algorithms\, leading to advancements in science\, technology\, and industry. With the potential for exponential speedup and improved computational capabilities\, quantum computing is ready to revolutionize problem-solving in the near future. \nHowever\, ensuring safety remains a critical priority in every area of application\, regardless of the specific field or industry. We explore the potential of this powerful technology\, it is crucial to ensure that appropriate measures are in place to protect sensitive information\, maintain data integrity\, and address potential risks. By prioritizing safety considerations\, we can build a foundation of trust and confidence in the deployment of quantum computing solutions\, enabling their widespread adoption and maximizing their positive impact across various industries. \nThis workshop aims to provide a platform for an interactive dialog between researchers and specialists and practitioners in the industry.
