SUMMARY:Quantum resources: from mathematical foundations to operational characterisation
DESCRIPTION:Various properties of quantum systems are starting to find use in the development of practical quantum technologies\, elevating phenomena such as entanglement and coherence from mathematical curiosities to physical resources. The framework of quantum resource theories aims to understand these features in a unified fashion and establish methods to characterise them effectively. \nThe workshop Quantum resources: from mathematical foundations to operational characterisation is concerned with the theoretical investigation of quantum resources\, and in particular on bridging the gap between the abstract mathematical description of resource theories and the protocols for their practical exploitation. \nThe workshop will consist of invited talks by experts in various aspects of quantum resource theories as well as contributed talks\, poster sessions\, and extended discussion sessions.

DESCRIPTION:As COVID-19 rages on throughout the world\, more people are seeing the value quantum computing can provide once the technology matures. An integral piece of quantum computing’s success is the middleware bridging existing code and algorithms to the new logical circuitry being established that sits on top of the quantum circuits. This integration and abstraction will allow the technology to process complex algorithms to provide the outcomes the hardware enables. Middleware is more readily available because it is less of an investment\, and many middleware startups exist in the quantum computing space.
